Begin with a business question
Do not start with a dashboard. Start with a question:
- Why do some requests take three times longer?
- Which customer questions create the most support work?
- Where does a process return for correction?
- Which early signal predicts a failed outcome?
Explain, then predict
Descriptive analysis finds the pattern. Diagnostic analysis tests why it happens. Prediction is only valuable after both are understood.
The goal of AI data analysis is not a prettier chart. It is a shorter path from evidence to a better operational decision.
